Nirmal Dargad – A Life Rooted in Values, Driven by Purpose
In a world where ambition often overshadows values, Mr. Nirmal Dargad stands out as a rare example of a man who has seamlessly blended professional excellence, social responsibility, and deep cultural grounding. His life journey is not just about personal success, but about giving back with grace, and living with humility.
A Legacy of Service: The Dargad Family
The Dargad family’s contribution to society is not born out of a desire for applause or recognition — it is a natural expression of the values and culture passed down through generations.
When Mr. Nirmal Dargad speaks of social work, his tone is filled with humility. He says:
"Social service is not an achievement for me, but a quiet legacy from my father. I’ve learned that true service is not about stature but about depth and outreach. My ambition is to ensure that the resources of society reach as many in need as possible."
When asked about his use of the word “ambition” in the context of service, he smiles:
"A person’s identity isn’t defined by what they inherit, but by what they add to it. Our Maheshwari community is rich in donors and resources. What’s needed now is a collective effort to ensure fair and sensitive distribution of those resources."
As Secretary of MPS International (2019–22), Executive Member of Shri Maheshwari Samaj, Jaipur, and Trustee of the Shri O.P. Dargad Foundation, he has shown that institutional service can be as sacred and sincere as personal involvement.
An Inspiring Patriarch – Late Shri O.P. Dargad
His father, Late Shri Om Prakash Dargad, was also an exemplary figure of social service and hard work. After moving from Rajasthan to Assam, he built a strong identity for himself in the grocery trade. As a gesture of gratitude toward the land that gave him livelihood, he donated land in Bongaigaon (Assam) for the construction of a Shri Ram Temple and a Science College — a rare and inspiring example of rootedness and contribution.
Later, recognizing the growing demand for edible oil in Assam, he started an oil mill back in Rajasthan, not just to expand the business, but to generate local employment and bridge regional trade needs — a visionary step well ahead of its time.
